As visitors entered the main tent at SCOPE Art Fair 2025, they were greeted by Elevar La Cultura, a monumental sculptural installation by Victor “Marka27” Quiñonez. Towering over twenty feet high, the work took the form of a golden Mayan pyramid constructed from ordinary ice coolers—everyday survival tools for immigrant street vendors and asylum seekers. Seamlessly merging street aesthetics with cultural symbolism, the structure pulsed with life through vibrant projections, a commanding mural, and layered audio, setting the tone for the fair’s theme Be Here Now. More than a visual spectacle, Elevar La Cultura became a spiritual checkpoint, honoring resilience, labor, and cultural memory while immersing audiences in a moment of presence, power, and reflection.
